my scale was 3.8 pounds heavier this morning but that’s not surprising considering i did not make the best choices for lunch yesterday (blue cheeseburger, fries, onion rings)… i told my b/f that i’m going to be realistic about things from now on… there’s no use worrying about every single thing cus i’ll go crazy and miss enjoying the present… after the funeral, we took the harley out for a ride since it was so nice out and for lunch, we stopped at this place called lu and joe’s… i hadn’t been there since i was little and some may call it a biker bar now but the food is excellent… if my mom’s church group can go there for lunch, you know it can’t be all that bad… anyway, we had a nice time plus took rusty for 2 long walks…

i thought i would weigh myself on my b/f’s scale this morning and it showed a pretty big loss but being i’m an idiot, i had to see if the scale was really accurate… so what do i do? i took 2 soda bottles and weighed them and then calculated how many ounces are equal to a pound (.0625)… according to the my calculations, the scale looks to be dead-on so could it be true? i dunno, no sense getting worked up about it since WI isn’t until saturday but still - i am happy to see ANY progress…

i found this interesting website today (http://www.30daydieters.com/) that is both interesting and frustrating at the same time… i find it hard to believe that these people actually lost weight while eating fast food and here i am, struggling to lose a pound a week by eating what i call ‘normal’ food… granted, some made decent choices and exercised everyday but still - is it really what they’re eating OR their daily calorie intake that causes the weightloss? if its calorie-related, does that mean that i can eat 1,200 calories worth of pizza everyday and lose? if so, sign me up!

so i’m switching things up this week, i’m doing cardio on m/w/f and weights on t/th instead - maybe that will shake things up a bit.. i haven’t received notice that my pilates class is full so i’m looking forward to that tomorrow night, i just hope i like the instructor/class or i’ll stop going (yes, i know i paid but still)… i also tried a new pilates dvd yesterday morning and didn’t like it so i did some yoga instead which is fine - its better than not doing anything at all… i also worked til almost 7:00 so it was a very long day indeed…

regardless of how many times you step on a scale, its hard to not feel defeated when the numbers go up instead of down… granted .4 pounds is nothing in the grand scheme of things but nonetheless, i feel i worked pretty hard this week (jogging more, drinking my water, etc.)… i read a LOT of weightloss blogs and i would say maybe 99.9% go thru the same thing but when it happens to you, it just feels different…

i’m impressed w/myself and my workout today - i burned 500 calories so i’m allowed 1 more point (yee haa)… i’m already thinking about what i can have for dinner - maybe a pizza on that TJ’s naan i bought the other night… the boss is gone, work has been slow and its pretty quiet around here (zzz) so i’m anxious for the day/week to be over… my weekend plans are: going to spinning tomorrow morning and then hang out with the b/f and rusty, the dog… we’re going to see a movie in the afternoon and then to have a nice, romantic, italian dinner - my mouth is salivating just thinking about it… sunday will be brunch w/mom, grocery shopping and then popping by to see my friend’s that had a baby almost a month ago… my goal is to have a nice and relaxing two days off - oh, and to see a loss on the scale tomorrow… wish me luck! happy weekend!

if you’ve never been to a trader joe’s, please find one and go! i’m fortunate enough to have one less than 5 minutes from where i live and even though they don’t sell wine like the VA stores - its still jam-packed with goodies… like frozen naan (3 pts.), herbed goat cheese (2 pts), multi-seed flat bread (2 pts), and brussel sprouts (o pts)… and take my word of advice: NEVER go when you’re hungry - $25 later, i was out the door… geesh how things add up quick!

i’m always glad when its wednesday because that means, only two more days left til the weekend… looking forward to saturday, my b/f and i are having ‘date night’ which is basically dinner and a movie… i bought these gift certificates online last year (for cheap) and decided it was time to cash one in - mmm mmm, italian it will be… i swear i must be part italian (and part mexican) because i could eat it every single day… work has been semi-busy today so its going by much smoother than yesterday… nothing like formatting a dozen+ tables to keep you busy… i have some errands to do after work and then its home to watch LOST - its about damn time there’s a new episode… i’ve completely forgot what happened in the last episode too - stupid networks! anyway, happy hump day everyone…

so i jogged on the treadmill today for almost 40 minutes - that is like a record for me… i had been doing pretty good last fall and then fell off the wagon, so its taken me this long to get my mojo back… i didn’t quite get to my required 500 calories for today but was close (450) and can really feel the difference in my pace and how i feel… now if i could do this everyday, i’d be set… HA!

so my boyfriend’s new dog, rusty, leaped at my cat this morning during a test ‘meet and greet’ and tried to bite him… this left me very upset and crying in the office, where max had ran under the futon to hide… he was fine, of course, but i was a mess - i know it will take time for these guys to get comfortable around each other but its nerve wracking to say the least… he’s a big dog (100+ lbs) and very strong, i just don’t want to feel like i can’t leave the house w/them both there together… all i have is one word - training, training, and training…
